Opening Facebook in USM Engineering Campus
Lately there is a problem opening Facebook (FB) using USM (Universiti Sains Malaysia) network in Engineering Campus. This problem is probably caused by the proxy setting of the network. To overcome this problem, you can try the following steps:
1. Open http://m.facebook.com/settings/security/
2. UNTICK or DISABLE secure browsing
3. Open http://www.facebook.com/ in new tab
Now you can directly open FB by visiting http://www.facebook.com/ instead of https://www.facebook.com/
If you always visit FB via bookmark, then you should check wether the bookmark use http or https. Change the bookmark address into http if it is using https

Lomo Effect via Photoshop
In the previous post, we learned how to INSTAGRAMize our picture using curve adjustment layer via photoshop. Now we will learn another curve adjustment combination to make our picture looked LOMOcified.
Below is the original picture used in this post
To lomocify the picture do the following steps:
1. Lomo Curve Adjustment Layer
Put a curve adjustment layer above the Background layer by selecting "Layer>New adjustment layer>Curves..." and put the following points in their respective channel.
Channel | Point | Input | Output |
Red | 1 | 222 | 252 |
Red | 2 | 163 | 196 |
Red | 3 | 128 | 128 |
Red | 4 | 59 | 36 |
Green | 1 | 148 | 180 |
Green | 2 | 65 | 63 |
Blue | 1 | 255 | 209 |
Blue | 2 | 0 | 46 |
(If you still dont understand how to add points in the curve adjustment layer, then you should practice with this or that post)
the curves should look like this
2. Reduce Contrast
This step is optional. If your original image is sufficiently contrast, then the curve adjustment layer will increase the contrast. To reduce the contrast, add the following point to the RGB channel.
Channel | Point | Input | Output |
RGB | 1 | 191 | 176 |
RGB | 2 | 64 | 79 |
Done!
here is the final result.
